NAIA experience

This is a disappointing story happen to my own mother at NAIA Terminal.  I am a proud Filipino and I am not against Philippine government nor would like to discredit any official of NAIA. I just want to call the attention of the authority and to warn other OFW.

This is what happen. My mother is a legal  OFW on Milan and scheduled to go back on May 3.  She  checked in earlier, so we can spend more time with her before her flight.  Before she got back inside the airport, she checked all her document, passport, ticket (boarding pass), sigiorno (permit to stay). She always told us that her sigiorno is her most important document since she can’t go back unless she had it.

So we said our farewell to her while looking at her  holding her documents as she enter the airport entrance. And then we leave the airport. It is a good thing that we’re still in parañaque area when my sister got a call from my mother which is crying and telling her that her sigiorno is missing. So we went back to airport while also calling her often to ask her why and how it is missing.  She said that she was on the immigration area when she found out that her sigiorno is missing. And then she asked for help and she was directed to different person. My mom is on panic mode so we told her to wait for us.

Then we saw our mother, crying desperately while we help her search her sigiorno on her bag. My father  asked several guards if they’ve seen it or if someone seen it and surrender it to them. Me and my sister also help asking on several people. Then, our father decided to  ask an authority in order to help us through paging. At the moment, the said employee call someone and then told my father that it is already found and surrender in the last xray scanning booth. We are quite surprise since our mother had not yet reach that area.

Then after a while, we call her again and she said that it’s already there and she gave money to the person who gave it to her. When she reached Italy and we called her, she told us that she think what happen was a scam because the same thing happen to my aunt and to my aunt friend where in the end they all gave money. She remember then that she already gave her sigiorno  to the personnel on the immigration before she gave her passport and other documents and then afterwards telling her that she hadn’t handed it yet. Even daring her to look on their area.

Well, if someone out there also experienced this, kindly comment. And I hope, this will reach the authority and somehow they look over this matter. As of now, I only knew 3 victims. Maybe it’s coincidental and not a scam.
